Kitchen Tea Invitations and Ideas

What is the Kitchen Tea?

The kitchen tea is a fun event hosted for the bride that is different than the engagement party, hen’s night or any other pre-wedding function.  When guests receive their kitchen tea invites they should plan for a civilised and calm afternoon tea at a restaurant, café or someone’s home. After tea time, games are played and presents are opened by the bride-to-be.

Typically when guests receive their kitchen tea invitation cards they become aware of what’s expected of them at the party. The standard gift given at the kitchen tea party is a kitchen accessory.  Any kitchen essential that the bride may need as she embarks on her newly married life is game. Fun and comedic options are par for the course at kitchen tea parties. Guests may select such novelties as gloves, rolling pins, mixing bowls or something a bit more fun like a flamboyant apron or feathery chef hat.

Brides are often offered a kitchen tea party and hen’s party the same day. The bride’s older relatives and friends may prefer the kitchen tea party while the young ladies may opt for something riskier at the hen’s party. Both events are fun for the bride and bring about many laughs and memories.

Kitchen Tea Party Invitations

Kitchen tea party invites set the tone of the event.  Guests find out the date, location, time and any pertinent details needed for the event.  Kitchen tea invitations come in a wide variety of styles.  One of the most popular varieties offered are the Calla Lily kitchen tea invites offered at Inviting Concepts. These beautiful invites feature an elegant image of a lily with printing on the front and back.

The wording on the kitchen tea cards can be written in a number of font styles.  Century Gothic to Lucinda Calligraphy are just some of the font types to choose from.  Photographic styles that offer pictures of flowers are perfect for a kitchen tea or garden tea party.  Brides may choose floral assortments such as tulips, white daisies, roses or blue hibiscus.  The flowers are elegantly photographed and excite any guest for the upcoming event.

Sending Out Kitchen Tea Thank You Cards

The bride-to-be should allow a trusted friend or family member to journal a list of names and gifts given while opening the presents. The worst etiquette rule to be broken is forgetting or neglecting to send out thank you cards. Kitchen tea thank you cards should be purchased at or near the same time as the kitchen tea invites. The cards may match in style to tie the theme of the party together.

Determining when to send out the thank you cards is important. You don’t want to wait when you are so busy with the wedding that you may forget or after the wedding when sending out wedding gift thank-you’s.  This could get confusing to the bride and the guests. With the help of a trusted friend, preparing the kitchen tea thank you cards should be immediate. While still fresh in your memory, hand write something personal that provides warmth and gratitude.
