You have decided to throw a party or celebration, now it is time to think about your invitations. Do you have a theme ? Or are you just going with a color scheme? Either way, this will help you decide on the style of invitations.
You should have a list of guests, family and friends, that you wish to invite. You also need to decide if it will be an adults only party or if you will be including all the family, adults and children. You can save money with the cost of the invitations if you are including the whole family as smaller children can be included on the invitation sent to the parents, adult children sometimes like their own invitation.
Whatever way you decide to go, you will need the wording for the invitations. Basically it is the four "Ws", Who, What, Where and When.
Who-- is doing the inviting, this will be the name of the host(s)
What-- is announcing the celebration of the marriage of...
Where-- Is the place where the ceremony and reception will take place
When--is the date and time the happy event will occur.
Then comes the RSVP date. You allow yourself a little time to follow up in case people don't respond.
Four to Six weeks before the party is a good time to send the invitations out. This is considered enough time for your friends and family to organize to have the date free.
We recommend ordering your invitations 2-3 weeks before you require them. When ordering invitations order extra in case you make some mistakes when writing them out or for any last minute changes. Getting extras printed later on is often costly.
Invitations are often printed with the guests name. If you are writing the names or having a caligrapher do so, remember to advise us to allow a line or space for the guests names. For a small additional cost we can overprint the guests names for you.
